Introduction
Many Brooklyn neighborhoods are going through gentrification. Bedford-Stuyvesant is one of them. Gentrification happens when a neighborhood obtains new and wealthier residents or when the neighborhood’s property and business increase in value. In this case, Bedford-Stuyvesant is receiving new residents as well as more business and higher property values. However, this gentrification is also influencing and changing the neighborhood

dramatically. Many of the changes are beneficial to the community and help out the original residents. Unfortunately, there are also negative aspects of gentrification. For example, gentrification can cause many of the original residents to move out. This is because these residents can't afford the high rent or taxes that are caused by gentrification. Even though gentrification has good and bad aspects, it does not change the fact that Bedford-Stuyvesant is changing.
